Barcelona Wins!

We've purchased tickets to Barcelona for October. Now, where to stay?! What to do?! Adam had some great ideas in response to my previous post. Anybody else want to jump in and give us their two cents worth?

celestial blue directed me to try and give you a hand, seeing that I've been to Barcelona for a couple'o'weeks last may-june.
I've been with my girl to this hotel:
it's a nice hotel, not too pricy, located in a quiet residential neighborhood, and 3 minutes walk from the nearest subway station. As to locations.. We've been to las ramblas, which is basically the most known tourist attraction in the city (a long boulevard with street performers and lots of alleys and shops). Also, you could get to placa catalunia (can get there easily by the subway) - that's also where las ramblas begins - and take the red, or the blue tourist bus line and visit all or most of the attractions during a tour day.
Other tourist spots include the nice beach, the olympic village (1992 olympics), the Gaudi Houses, and a nice collection of artsy fartzy museums :)
Have a great Vacation! Barcelona is beautiful :)
